The AACN Chapter at UCLA is proud to present its 2025 Annual Symposium, Courage to Soar: Leading Excellence in Nursing Practice.
The AACN Chapter at UCLA brings together local and national nurse leaders to provide a forum that serves as a valuable avenue for reflection, professional growth, networking, and leadership development. The symposium is designed to recharge your passion for nursing, connect you with like-minded professionals, and provide valuable tools to elevate your practice.
We are excited to announce that our keynote speaker will be Jennifer Adamski, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, CCRN, FCCM, the President of the AACN!
This year, we have a special session that focuses on connecting frontline staff with nurse leaders to share insights and discuss strategies for building genuine collaboration. We believe that fostering these connections is essential for enhancing communication across all levels of nursing, improving patient care, and elevating nursing practice.

Contact Hours: This activity has been submitted to the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses for approval to award contact hours. The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses is accredited as an approver of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Participant must be present for the entire presentation and complete the course evaluation to earn contact hours. The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing-Provider Number CEP1036.
Registration Refund and Cancellation Policy

Refund Policy regarding Non-Attendance:
- No refunds will be issued by the Chapter for non-attendance.
Notification Process if course is canceled.
- Registrants will be notified by the email used to register if Chapter cancels the event for any reason.
Time period within which the full or partial registration fee will be refunded.
Registration Refund and Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations must be received in writing via email to: aacn.ucla@gmail.com by February 10, 2025, 11:45 p.m. PT to qualify for a full refund.
- Cancellations received after February 10, 2025, 11:45p.m. PT does not qualify for a refund.
Exhibitor Cancellations:
If Chapter cancels the event for any reason, Exhibitor will be notified, and any
prepaid support funds to Chapter will be returned to Exhibitor within 10 business days.
If Exhibitor cancels: Cancellation must be received in writing via email to: aacn.ucla@gmail.com.
- Greater than 14 days before the event: 100% of the cost of the exhibit fee will be returned to the exhibitor within 10 business days.
- 7-14 days before the event: 50% of the cost of the exhibit fee will be retained by Chapter.
- Less than 7 days before the event: 100% of the cost of the exhibit space will be retained by Chapter.

A leader who impacts clinical outcomes through research, performance improvement and staff mentorship. Possesses excellent presentation and communication skills.

Interim Chief Quality Officer - UCLA Department of Medicine Quality
Anna Dermenchyan, PhD, RN, CCRN, CPHQ, is a healthcare leader with extensive experience in clinical practice, healthcare management, and quality improvement. As the Interim Chief Quality Officer and Director of Quality for the UCLA Department of Medicine, she drives initiatives to enhance care quality and advance population health management at UCLA Health. Certified in critical care and healthcare quality, Dr. Dermenchyan specializes in patient safety, healthcare ethics, organizational leadership, and health data analytics. Nationally, she has served as a Jonas Policy Scholar with the American Academy of Nursing, Health Policy and Media Fellow at George Washington University, and a board member for the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
