Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Department: Labor & Delivery

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: Days

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth, ensuring the safety and comfort of both mother and baby. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients, including monitoring vital signs, fetal heart tones, and contractions.
  • Assist with the labor process, delivery, cesarean sections, and immediate postpartum care.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and epidurals per provider orders and hospital protocols.
  • Support and educate patients and their families throughout the childbirth process.
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies with appropriate interventions and collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Adhere to safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients during one of the most critical times in their lives.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of California or ability to obtain.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year recent experience in labor and delivery or maternal-child health preferred.
  • BLS,ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications required
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB)
  • Experience with fetal monitoring systems and electronic medical records (e.g., Epic)
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
