AACN Chapter at UCLA

#Unstoppable Nurses Leading in 'Hearing Their Voices'

Posted almost 6 years ago by Kim Amaral

What can a group of nurses accomplish? Anything is possible! Nurses are #unstoppable positive agents of change that can not only help to shape individual patient care and education, but also can shape, lasting, positive impact on major social issues and the community at large!

A huge shout out to the Palliative Team from Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center and some very dedicated members from the AACN Chapter at UCLA who have worked tirelessly on a project very close to their heart and soul--"Hearing Their Voice." In a great article printed in AACN's November issue of Bold Voices, Jeannette Meyer shares their experiences eloquently. She wrote, "A palliative team and critical care nurses from Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center partner(ed) with the AACN Chapter at UCLA for monthly visits to the area food bank, to meet with homeless people, establish trust and offer an opportunity to complete an advance directive--a project named Hearing Their Voice."

I am so inspired by their work! Please read this article--it may just be a catalyst to spark your own passion.
